Glasses to wear with your lenses

Most people who wear scleral lenses still need glasses.

Glasses cover the hours the lenses are out, close work and the days you leave them in the case. Dr. Kannan writes the glasses prescription at the same visit as the exam, and we help you with frame and lens choices, including the thinner lens options that strong prescriptions call for.

A pair of thin wire-rimmed round glasses lies on a dark blue surface.

What we help with

  • Reading and spare pairs

A pair for close work, and a pair for the days the lenses stay out.

  • Strong prescriptions

Thinner lens materials and coatings, explained plainly, so you can choose what is worth it.

  • Adjustments and repairs

Bring your glasses in for a fit check or a repair. We tell you when it is faster to replace them.

  • Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy of your glasses prescription after your exam, and you can fill it anywhere.

Ask about glasses at your visit

Tell us when you book that you would like to talk about glasses, and we will leave time for it.
