Shobha Kannan

Doctor of Optometry, owner

Fits every scleral and specialty lens at the clinic, and sees each patient from the first map to the yearly check.

Dr. Kannan opened the clinic to give hard-to-fit eyes the time a fitting needs. She sees every fitting patient herself, so the person who reads your first maps is the person who adjusts your lens and checks it a year later.

What I do here

  • Scleral lens fittings
  • Lenses for keratoconus and irregular corneas
  • Toric and multifocal lens designs
  • Yearly exams for lens wearers

Training and license

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD)

  • Doctor of Optometry · WA License no. 000000

How she works

Every fitting starts with the maps and with a plain conversation about what has not worked. Dr. Kannan explains what the maps show, which design she would start with and what she cannot know until the lens is on your eye.

She works with cornea doctors and other eye doctors, with your permission, and refers you when your eyes need care beyond a lens.

What she fits

  • Scleral lenses

For keratoconus, changed corneas and eyes that other lenses have not suited.

  • Gas-permeable and hybrid lenses

For some irregular corneas, and for people who want a firm lens with a softer edge.

  • Toric and multifocal lenses

For astigmatism and for near and far vision, with a trial before anything is ordered.
